Hem-o-lok Clip
A Hem-o-lok clip is a surgical device used to stop bleeding from severed blood vessels during surgical procedures. This clip functions similarly to a clamp, which is placed over the vessel and securely occludes it.
Hem-o-lok clips are commonly used for the ligation of vessels and tissues ranging from 2 to 16 millimeters in diameter and are applicable in both open and laparoscopic surgeries. The system features a 360-degree rotational capability, allowing the surgeon to easily and effectively use it in various locations within the body with confidence.
Features of Hem-o-lok Clips
- V-shaped design for secure clip placement on the vessel and prevention of slippage.
- Secure locking mechanism with audible and tactile feedback.
- Non-interference with CT, MRI, and X-ray imaging.
- Polymeric structure with anti-slip properties.
Contraindications for the Use of Hem-o-lok Clips
Hem-o-lok clips are not intended for use in fallopian tube occlusion for the purpose of sterilization (preventing pregnancy).
The use of Hem-o-lok clips for ligation of the renal artery during laparoscopic live donor nephrectomy is contraindicated.
