Description
Hem-o-lok Clip (hemoclips)
The Hem-o-lok clip is a surgical instrument used to achieve hemostasis by occluding severed blood vessels during surgical procedures. Functioning similarly to a clamp, this clip is applied to a vessel to securely ligate it.
Hem-o-lok clips are typically indicated for the ligation of vessels and tissues ranging from 2 to 16 millimeters in diameter and can be utilized in both open and laparoscopic surgical procedures. The system offers a 360-degree rotation capability, allowing the surgeon to easily and effectively apply the clip securely in various anatomical locations.
Features of Hem-o-lok Clips
- V-shaped design for secure vessel apposition and prevention of slippage.
- Secure locking mechanism with audible and tactile feedback.
- Non-interference with CT, MRI, and X-ray imaging.
- Non-slip polymer construction.
Contraindications for Hem-o-lok Clip Use
- Hem-o-lok clips are contraindicated for use as a fallopian tube occlusion device for sterilization.
- The use of Hem-o-lok clips for ligation of the renal artery during laparoscopic live donor nephrectomy is prohibited.
